Mom Jeans with a Gray Bodysuit.

Mom Jeans with a Gray Bodysuit.

The gray bodysuit is back with an 80s twist.

I’m starting to re-introduce jeans to the regular outfit rotation as fall inches closer. (But only on days where it’s actually cool enough!) This day temps were in the mid-70s, which was perfect to mix and match some summer and fall pieces. A gray bodysuit (last seen here) brought the warm weather feel and the 80s-style mom jeans worked in a bit of fall.

Mom jeans can be a bit tricky to style. There’s just a lot of fabric around the torso + pelvic area, which can create a hard-to-dress panel of denim. I combat this by wearing a fitted top (or bodysuit, rather) and defining the waist with a belt. (An on-trend snakeskin belt is a good choice; I like this one and this one.)

The legs of these jeans are a straight cut, which can also prove difficult. Adding the illusion of length is key for me, so I added a pair of gray suede sandals with a nice stacked heel. If you think you can’t wear a straight leg, grab a shoe with some height and see if that doesn’t fix the issue.

I’m still really loving this initial necklace I found on Etsy. It’s a dupe for a more expensive version that’s always sold out at Nordstrom. I love layering it with other dainty gold necklaces, but it definitely works worn on its own.

And if you’re wondering what I wear under this bodysuit (because it is pretty thin + low-cut), I use boob tape. Cover the nips, lift, and tape! I use Perky Pear and the tape has really come in handy with tricky tops and dresses that have complicated or low-cut necklines.
