Layering on a pumpkin-colored duster over a summery top.
We’re well into October– have you succumbed to the siren song of everything pumpkin spice? While I think the drink is okay (I prefer the pumpkin cream cold brew, myself), I really dig an orange-based color palette. This pumpkin-colored duster (also known as a longline kimono) is a really pretty fall piece. The lace keeps it light (although this sweater version is super cute), but that hue is oh-so-autumn.
So what to wear with a duster like this? I leaned into all that texture and grabbed a summery lace top (I love this one and this one) to wear over skinny denim. To cap off the outfit, I grabbed these white booties off the shelf. Don’t be Labor Day-fooled, white totally works come fall.
I love this look because it has a huge style impact (all that lace and distressed denim!) and it is one of those summer-to-fall outfits that will work both in early fall and later in the season.
How to achieve? All you need to do to make this pumpkin-colored duster work in late November is swap out the white lace tank I’m wearing here for something with a sleeve. Think a lightweight turtleneck (in black, oxblood, or mustard) or sweater, or even a long-sleeved t-shirt if it’s not too cold in your neck of the woods. Now that’s a Thanksgiving outfit I can fully endorse! And this piece is a reminder that lace definitely isn’t just for the summer season.
