Not putting those cutoff shorts away just yet! Tall boots ftw.
We keep getting hints of fall here in KC: a cool morning here, a lower-humidity day there. It’s promising (albeit a little sad to see summer go), but it’s not so obvious that I’m doing a full seasonal wardrobe swap yet. The answer? Fall things with summer things, like a pair of summery cutoff shorts with a (lightweight!) sweater and tall boots. (I love these! And they come in 2 other colors if you already have a pair of tan boots in your closet.)
This sweater is a great transitional find. First, it features both a “summer” and a “fall” color. (You can wear any color whenever you want, but you get my drift.) The baby pink and the mustard is a different + cool combo, and the cropped nature of the sweater feels more beachy than turkey trot. I love the way it wore with high-waisted, boyfriend-style cutoff shorts.
These boots will totally be in the mix once fall really settles in. I’m already daydreaming about wearing them with leggings, sweater dresses, and over skinny jeans. I love the wider opening at the top (so flattering on the leg) and that super manageable heel. A) so comfy and B) we’ll be dealing with icy surfaces before we know it, and a sturdy heel is wise.
