White Lace Summer Blouse + Satin Platforms.

White Lace Summer Blouse + Satin Platforms.

Taking a new pair of satin platforms out for a spin.

Satin platforms are back! Ever since Versace sent these stunners down the runway, double and triple platform heels have been popping up at every price point. I found these dupes at Amazon and thought I’d give ’em a try.

Keeping with the dressy element of the shoes, I matched them with a super flirty summer blouse. This one from VICI is perfect with its open weave lace, wide cuffs, and statement bow. Straight-leg jeans with a criss cross zipper helped balance the look and keep it from skewing too formal. (Although, how killer would this outfit look with a pair of black cigarette trousers?)

A black crop under the blouse added a little more edge than matching white or a neutral, and jewel tone statement earrings played up the teal in the satin platforms.

Okay, let’s talk height. When I say these shoes are tall, I mean they are tall– they put me at just under 6 feet. (I’m normally 5’5.) The air is pretty nice up here!

Now, even though these heels are much taller than what I usually reach for, they’re surprisingly sturdy and easy to walk in. Because the lift under the ball of the foot is so high, the heel isn’t as steep, which in turn makes the shoe more comfortable. This is the brilliance of platforms; you get a ton of height and they’re not nearly as difficult to wear as a single-sole stiletto.
