The shirt jacket combo that doesn’t quit: the bright plaid shacket.
Let’s get into some brights, shall we? As much as I love a moody look, sometimes you need a pop of color to set the style mood. That’s exactly what this bright plaid shacket brings to the table: color, interest, and warmth. (The warmth factor is arguably the most important here, considering late January-early February is typically a frozen tundra icescape here in the Midwest.)
The rest of this look is pretty basic, letting the plaid shacket shine. A black boxy tee was an Amazon score, while these straight-leg jeans have a cute (and on-trend!) criss-cross waistband for a fun denim spin. I end-capped the look with sneakers I reach for most these days: the Nike Court Vision Low sneakers. Classic white and black, a low top, and a good compromise between a super chunky and slimline sole.
The jeans-and-sneakers go-to ‘fit gets next level with a bright plaid shacket like this. I love that fucshia color borders on neon– very Pantone Color of the Year, right? This is Viva Magenta if I’ve ever seen it. The teddy material is snuggly and still everywhere in stores, so no worries about this becoming dated anytime soon. The whole look works for your go-anywhere winter outfit, but also a fun take on a casual, not too on-the-nose Valentine’s look. (And Valentine’s Day will certainly be here before we know it!)
